On 29 June 2012, CASI sensor carried by the Harbin Y-12 aircraft was used in a visible near Infrared hyperspectral airborne remote sensing experiment, which is located in the observation experimental area (30×30 km). The land cover pattern product in the middle reaches of the Heihe River Basin were obtained at a spatial resolution of 1 m, using CASI aerial data with high spatial and spectral resolution．A hierarchical classification structure integrated by pixel-based classification and object-based classification is used to obtain production．According to surveyed reference data about land cover and visual interpretation from high resolution imagery，the accuracy of the classification result of land cover was evaluated，and the result showed that overall accuracy was 84.61 %，Kappa coefficient was 0.8262．

Since the formation of Heihe River, sporopollen data samples have been collected from the drilling strata of Da'ao well in the middle reaches of Heihe River. Drilling location: 39.491 n, 99.605 E. The drilling depth is 140 meters. 128 samples of sporopollen are collected from top to bottom. At present, there are 19 data of sporopollen results, which are distributed in each sedimentary facies from top to bottom. The sporopollen samples were removed from carbonate, organic matter, silicate and other impurities in the laboratory, and the species and data of sporopollen were identified under the microscope. Sporopollen results mainly include the percentage content and number of trees, shrubs, herbs, aquatic, ferns and other families and genera.

Heihe river basin is the second largest inland river basin in China. In the past 30 years, a relatively perfect drainage observation system has been established in heihe river basin, which has become an important inland river research base in China.River basin is an important natural research unit, but the boundary of heihe river basin is not unified. In order to facilitate the use of data by users, we collected and sorted out 5 kinds of heihe river basin boundaries commonly seen in the literature: 1) from 1985 to 1986, China began to conduct systematic research on the heihe river basin as a whole. On the basis of basic investigation and a large number of data mastered, the early heihe river basin map was drawn with an area of 138,900 km ^ 2.The whole basin is divided into three hydrologic balance zones, which are: the balance zone of heihe main stream system, the balance zone of beida river main stream system and the balance zone of ma ying - feng leshan front water system. 2) sub project national key scientific research project of the ninth five-year plan "in heihe river basin water resources reasonable use and the economic society and ecological environment coordinated development research", considering the integrity of the county-level administrative units, on the basis of the first basin boundary using the administrative boundary of basin boundary was revised, formed the "digital heihe" published information system (http://heihe.westgis.ac.cn) of the heihe river basin boundary, watershed area of 128700 km ^ 2.The division of hydrological unit inherits the original idea and is divided into three river systems, namely the eastern river system, the central river system and the western river system. 3) in the comprehensive control plan of heihe river basin of the ministry of water resources, the area of heihe river basin is determined as 142,900 km ^ 2, and the hydrologic unit is divided into two independent water systems in the central and western regions and the east, with an area of 27,000 km2 and 116,000 km ^ 2 respectively. 4) in 2002-2006 in the national integrated water resources planning, "the Yellow River" (piece of) integrated water resources planning working group in 2005, the establishment "the northwest rivers and water resources and its exploitation and utilization of investigation evaluation report, briefly, to the secondary and tertiary area as the unit of water resources, to complete a series of natural geography and social economy statistical tables, maps and other data.In this comprehensive plan, the area of heihe river basin is about 151,700 km ^ 2, and the plan does not give a more detailed sub-watershed division plan. 5) based on the high-precision digital elevation model (SRTM and ASTER GDEM), the boundary of heihe river basin was determined by using the GIS hydrologic analysis method.The boundary has been verified by remote sensing and field investigation, and the present situation of modern water resources utilization is considered in the process of basin boundary determination and sub-basin division.

The data set contains the flux observation data of large aperture scintillator from daman station in the middle reaches of heihe hydrometeorological observation network.The large aperture scintiometer of German BLS450_NQ and Dutch Kipp&zonen models has been installed at the dameng station in the middle reaches. The north tower is the receiving end of Kipp&zonen and the transmitting end of BLS450_NQ, and the south tower is the transmitting end of Kipp&zonen and the receiving end of BLS450_NQ.The observation period of BLS450_NQ is from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014, and the observation period of Kipp&zonen is from January 1, 2014 to March 1, 2014.The station is located in dazman irrigation district, zhangye city, gansu province. The underlying surface involves corn, orchards and greenhouses, but mainly corn.The latitude and longitude of the north tower is 100.379 E, 38.861 N, and the latitude and longitude of the south tower is 100.369 E, 38.847 N, with an altitude of about 1556m.The effective height of the large aperture scintillator is 22.45m, the optical diameter length is 1854m, and the sampling frequency is 1min. Large aperture flicker meter raw observation data for 1 min, data released for 30 min after processing and quality control of data, including sensible heat flux is mainly combined with the automatic meteorological station observation data, based on similarity theory alonzo mourning - Mr. Hoff is obtained by iterative calculation, the quality control of the main steps include: (1) excluding Cn2 reach saturation data (BLS450_NQ: Cn2 > 1.43 e-13, Kipp&zonen: Cn2 e-13 > 1.54);(2) data with weak demodulation signal strength were eliminated (BLS450_NQ: Mininum X<50, Kipp&zonen: Demod>-20mv);(3) data at the time of precipitation were excluded;(4) data of weak turbulence under stable conditions were excluded (u* < 0.1m/s).In the iterative calculation process, for BLS450_NQ, the stability universal function of Thiermann and Grassl, 1992 was selected.For Kipp&zonen, take Andreas 1988's stability universal function.Please refer to Liu et al.(2011, 2013) for detailed introduction. Some notes on the released data :(1) the data of mid-range LAS is mainly BLS450_NQ, the missing moment is supplemented by Kipp&zonen observation, and the missing of both is marked by -6999.(2) missing period: on June 21, 2014, solstice, 27, due to the lack of data from the automatic meteorological station, the sensible heat flux H_LAS observed at LAS during this period could not be calculated;On June 29, 2014, solstice on July 2, July 21, solstice 22, September 24, solstice 25, and December 21, solstice 30, data was missing due to LAS instrument failure.(3) data table head: Date/Time: Date/Time (format: yyyy-m-d h:mm), Cn2: structural parameters of air refraction index (unit: m-2/3), H_LAS: sensible heat flux (unit: W/m2).The meaning of data time, such as 0:30 represents the average between 0:00 and 0:30;The data is stored in *.xls format. On 19 July 2012, Leica ALS70 airborne laser scanner carried by the Harbin Y-12 aircraft was used in a LiDAR airborne optical remote sensing experiment. Leica ALS70 airborne laser scanner has unlimited numbers of returns intensities measurements including the first, second ,third return intensities. The wavelength of laser light is 1064 nm. The relative flight altitude is 1500 m (the elevation of 2700 m) with the point cloud density 4 points per square meter. Airborne LiDAR-DEM and DSM data production were obtained through parameter calibration, automatic classification of point cloud density and manual editing.

This dataset includes one scene acquired on (yy-mm-dd hh:mm, BJT) 2012-07-06 06:30, covering the artificial oasis eco-hydrology experimental area of the Heihe River Basin. This datum was acquired at Stripmap-Quad mode with product level of SLC, and this image includes VV, VH, HH and HV polarization with a spatial resolution of 8 m. The dataset of the survey at the sampling plots in the transit zone between oasis and desert was obtained in the Linze station foci experimental area. Observation items included: (1) soil moisture and temperature of the soil profiles (0-10cm, 10-20cm, 20-30cm and 30-40cm) measured by the cutting ring method (50cm^3, once each layer) and the probe thermometer (15cm, twice each layer) on May 25, 2008. Data were archived as Excel files. (2) biomass (green weight and dry weight, samples from 0.5m×0.5m) with photos measured by the plant harvesting in LY07 quadrate on Jun. 22, 2008. Data were archived as Excel files. (3) vegetation coverage measured by the diagonal method on Jun. 22, 2008. By estimating the coverage along the two diagonals, the total coverage of the plot can be developed. Data were archived as Excel files.

The No. 2 hydrological section is located at 312 Heihe River Bridge (38°59′51.71″ N, 100° 24′38.76″ E, 1485 m a.s.l.) in the middle reaches of the Heihe River Basin, Zhangye, Gansu Province. The dataset contains observations from the No.2 hydrological section from 19 June, 2012, to 24 November, 2012. This section consists of two river sections, i.e., the east section is marked as No. 1 and the west section is marked as No. 2. The width of this section is 90 meters. This section consists of a gravel bed; the cross-sectional area is unstable because of human factors. The water level was measured using SR50 ultrasonic range and the discharge was measured using cross-section reconnaissance by the StreamPro ADCP. The dataset includes the following sections: Water level (recorded every 30 minutes) and Discharge. The data processing and quality control steps were as follows: 1) The water level data which collected from the hydrological station were averaged over intervals of 10 min for a total of 144 records per day. The missing data were denoted by -6999. 2) Data out the normal range records were rejected. 3) Unphysical data were rejected. For more information, please refer to Liu et al. This data is the ring width chronology of Three Shrub overlord sample points in Badain Jilin desert in the upper reaches of Heihe River Basin, which represents the climate change of dry and wet in the desert area in the past 160 years.

The dataset of airborne L-band microwave radiometer and thermal imager mission was obtained in the Binggou-A'rou flight zone in the afternoon of Apr. 1, 2008. The frequency of L bands was 1.4 GHz with back sight of 35 degree and dual polarization (H&V) was acquired. The plane took off at Zhangye airport at 12:48 (BJT) and landed at 16:35 along the scheduled lines at the altitude about 5000m and speed about 260km/hr.. The raw data include microwave radiometer (L) data, thermal imager data (7.5-13 um; FOV: 24×18º) and GPS data; the first were instantaneous non-imaging observation recorded in text, which could be converted into brightness temperatures according to the caliberation coefficients (filed with raw data together), and the third are aircraft longitude, latitude and attitude. Moreover, based on the respective real-time clock log, observations by the microwave radiometer and GPS can be integrated to offer coordinates matching for the former. Yaw, flip, and pitch motions of aircraft were ignored due to the low resolution of microwave radiometer observations. Observation information can also be rasterized, as required, after calibration and coordinates matching. L band resolution (x) and footprint can be approximately estimated as x=0.3H (H is relative flight height). The thermal imager was 320*240 pixels and with FOV of 24×18º. The thermal imager data were stored in binary format with a text header file. The recorded value was brightness temperature at sensor with scale and gain parameter recorded in the header file. And the thermal images were not geometrically corrected because there were gaps between sequential images.

This datum contains panchromatic and multi-spectral bands, with spatial resolution of 2.5 m and 10 m, respectively. The data product level of this image is Level 1. QuickBird dataset was acquired through purchase.

According to the monthly temperature observation data of each conventional meteorological station in Heihe River basin set up by China Meteorological Administration, the annual air freeze-thaw index of each meteorological station is calculated, and then the annual average value of 1960-2004 is obtained. Finally, based on the regression relationship between the multi-year mean value of air freeze-thaw index and altitude of each meteorological station, and with the aid of 1 km DEM data, the spatial distribution map of air freeze-thaw index in Heihe River Basin is constructed.

The dataset of airborne WiDAS mission was obtained in the national observatory on climatology at Zhangye-Zhangye flight zone on Jun. 29, 2008. Intra-band data available for general users include Level-2C data (after geometric, radiometric and atmospheric corrections), Level-1B browse image (after intra-band matching) and Level-2B browse image (after registration). The raw data, Level-1A, and data processing parameters were filed; applications would be evaluated prior to access. Data processing started in Aug. 2008 and ended in Apr. 2009, and in Nov. 2009, CCD data were reprocessed to adjust radiometric calibration. The dataset includes two parts that are: 1) channel flow, crop pattern, field management, and socio-economy data measured at super-station in 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012 (UTC+8), respectively. 2) irrigation data, crop pattern, and socio-economy data investigated at Daman irrigation district and Yingke irrigation district, respectively. 1.1 Objective of investigation Objectives of investigation for two parts data are to obtain crop pattern and irrigation water volume change with time, and to supply parameter for irrigation water optimal allocation model. 1.2 Investigation spots and items Investigation spots include six water management stations that are Dangzhai, Hua’er, Daman, Xiaoman, Jiantan, and Ershilidun, respectively, at Daman irrigation district. On 4 July 2012 (UTC+8), TASI sensor carried by the Harbin Y-12 aircraft was used in a visible near Infrared hyperspectral airborne remote sensing experiment, which is located in Linze region and Heihe riverway. The relative flight altitude is 2500 meters. Land surface temperature product was obtained at a resolution of 3 m using a modified temperature/emissivity separation algorithm based on TASI surface radiance data. The product were validated with in situ ground measurements. The validation results indicated that the Land surface temperature product agreed with the ground LSTs well with RMSE lower than 1.5 K.

1、 Data Description: the data includes the samples of anions and anions of river water and groundwater in hulugou small watershed from July to September 2015 for test and analysis. The sampling frequency is once every two weeks. 2、 Sampling location: (1) there are two river water sampling points. One is located at the outlet flow weir of hulugou small watershed in the upper reaches of Heihe River, with latitude and longitude of 99 ° 52 ′ 47.7 ″ E and 38 ° 16 ′ 11 ″ n. The second sampling point of the river is located at the outlet of hulugou area II at the upper reaches of Heihe River, with the longitude and latitude of 99 ° 52 ′ 58.40 ″ E and 38 ° 14 ′ 36.85 ″ n. (2) Underground water spring and well water sampling points are 20 m to the east of the drainage basin outlet, with longitude and latitude of 99 ° 52 ′ 50.9 ″ E and 38 ° 16 ′ 11.44 ″ n. The well water sampling point is located near the intersection of the East and West Branch ditches, with the longitude and latitude of 99 ° 52 ′ 45.38 ″ E and 38 ° 15 ′ 21.27 ″ n. 3、 Test method: the cation of sample is tested by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometer (ICP-AES), the test accuracy is 0.05mg/l, and the anion is tested by ion chromatograph (ics1100), the test accuracy is 0.002mg/l.

1、 Data overview The sampling period of this data set is from June 17, 2012 to August 13, 2012. The sampling location is in the Institute of ecological hydrology experiment and research, Institute of cold and drought, Chinese Academy of Sciences, hulugou small watershed. The longitude and latitude of the sampling point are 99 ° 53 ′ 06.66 ″ e, 38 ° 16 ′ 18.35 ″ n. 2、 Data content This data is obtained by using the hash DR2800 ultraviolet spectrophotometer to test the rainwater obtained from the rain gauge. This data contains silica values for three rainfall periods.

This dataset contains the flux measurements from the Daman superstation eddy covariance system (EC) in the midstream reaches of the Heihe integrated observatory network from January 1 to December 31 in 2018. The site (100.37223° E, 38.85551° N) was located in the Zhangye City in Gansu Province. The elevation is 1556.06 m. The EC was installed at a height of 4.5 m, and the sampling rate was 10 Hz. The sonic anemometer faced north, and the separation distance between the sonic anemometer and the CO2/H2O gas analyzer (CSAT3&Li7500A) was 0.17 m. The raw data acquired at 10 Hz were processed using the Eddypro post-processing software, including the spike detection, lag correction of H2O/CO2 relative to the vertical wind component, sonic virtual temperature correction, coordinate rotation (2-D rotation), corrections for density fluctuation (Webb-Pearman-Leuning correction), and frequency response correction. The EC data were subsequently averaged over 30 min periods. The observation data quality was divided into three classes according to the quality assessment method of stationarity (Δst) and the integral turbulent characteristics test (ITC): class 1-3 (high quality), class 4-6 (good), class 7-8 (poor, better than gap filling data), class9 (rejected). In addition to the above processing steps, the half-hourly flux data were screened in a four-step procedure: (1) data from periods of sensor malfunction were rejected; (2) data collected before or after 1 h of precipitation were rejected; (3) incomplete 30 min data were rejected when the missing data constituted more than 10% of the 30 min raw record; and (4) data were rejected at night when the friction velocity (u*) was less than 0.1 m/s. There were 48 records per day, and the missing data were replaced with -6999. Suspicious data were marked in red. The released data contained the following variables: data/time, wind direction (Wdir, °), wind speed (Wnd, m/s), the standard deviation of the lateral wind (Std_Uy, m/s), virtual temperature (Tv, ℃), H2O mass density (H2O, g/m3), CO2 mass density (CO2, mg/m3), friction velocity (ustar, m/s), stability (z/L), sensible heat flux (Hs, W/m2), latent heat flux (LE, W/m2), carbon dioxide flux (Fc, mg/ (m2s)), quality assessment of the sensible heat flux (QA_Hs), quality assessment of the latent heat flux (QA_LE), and quality assessment of the carbon flux (QA_Fc). In this dataset, the time of 0:30 corresponds to the average data for the period between 0:00 and 0:30; the data were stored in *.xls format.
