Surface water body extent and area dataset in the Sahel-Sudano-Guinean region of Africa (2000-2020)
File naming: the data is stored in ShapeFile vector data format. The file named "pansahelianwaterbodies_21years. SHP" records the name of surface water body, the maximum extent in 21 years and the maximum, minimum and average area in each year; The file named "pansahelianwaterbodies_yyyy. SHP" records the average area of each month, where yyyy represents the year, such as pansahelianwaterbodies_ 2010.shp represents this ShapeFile file, which records the maximum extent of each water body and its monthly average area in 2010.
Data reading method: software or computer language that can read ShapeFile can read the data, such as ArcGIS, envi, IDL, python, MATLAB, etc.
