Thunderstorm cloud characteristic data set in China and surrounding areas (2010-2018)
File naming: it is stored in the structure data format of mat format data. The file name is "yyyymmdd_hhmm.mat", and yyyymmddhhmm respectively represents the time corresponding to the data (universal time, UTC): year, month, day, hour, minute, for example, 20100112_ 0000 means 0:00 on January 12, 2010.
Data reading method: the format of data file is mat file, which is a standard binary file and the standard format of MATLAB data storage. When reading data, you can directly use matlab to read. Some codes for data reading are as follows:
%Reading of single parameter
filepath=’\dataset\YYYY\YYYYMMDD_ hhmm. mat’;% Data path
load(path);% Open the data file
Area=TSC(1). Area;% Read the area of the first thunderstorm cloud
WWLLN_ lon=TSC(1). WWLLNstroke(:,8); % Read the longitude information of all lightning in the first thunderstorm cloud
S52_ Area=TSC(1). S52(2). Area; % Read the area of the first strong convection core in the first thunderstorm cloud

To respect the intellectual property rights, protect the rights of data authors, expand services of the data center, and evaluate the application potential of data, data users should clearly indicate the source of the data and the author of the data in the research results generated by using the data (including published papers, articles, data products, and unpublished research reports, data products and other results). For re-posting (second or multiple releases) data, the author must also indicate the source of the original data.
